Spoiler Alert! Steven Universe Reveal
The Steven Universe big reveal of May 2018 was that Rose Quartz is really Pink Diamond! This reveal was a theory that many people had, but had been mostly disregarded. Rose Quartz was the alter-ego of Pink Diamond who was created to start and maintain the gem rebellion on Earth. No one but Pearl knew this was happening. The reveal happens as a memory buried deep in Pearl’s psyche that Steven has to unearth and consists of Pearl morphing into Rose Quartz and pretending to shatter Pink Diamond with Rose Quartz’s sword.
We discuss some of the signs that may have revealed this like the scene where Pearl is building the spaceship and is wearing a pink outfit that we’ve never seen her wear before or where Peridot says that Pearl is a “fancy” Pearl, which was obviously a clue that Pearl belonged to someone very important.
Later we will have an entire episode dedicated to Steven Universe: what it is, why we love it, and why it’s a kick-ass cartoon that is loved by people of all ages.
